Sugarloaf Labradors, hereafter referred to as the Seller, and the new owner of the dog, hereafter referred to as the Buyer, do hereby enter into the following agreement:
This dog is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of this sale to the best of the Seller's knowledge. The dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian. The dog has been wormed and has had inoculations against canine distemper, coronavirus, and parvovirus. The dog has also been given it's first month of heartworm prevention. If travel on an airline is required the dog will be cleared for travel by a licensed veterinarian. The seller agrees to provide a complete health record to the buyer.
Replacement Guarantee:
The Buyer has a health guarantee extending to 30 days from the date of purchase in which they must have the dog examined by a licensed veterinarian. This is for confirmation of the health of the animal and the Buyer is urged to do so. If the veterinarian finds anything seriously wrong with the dog other than injuries that occur after leaving the seller's premises, the dog will be exchanged for another dog of equal or lesser value when available, providing that a letter from the examining veterinarian is offered as evidence of the dog's illness. The dog must be returned within the guaranteed period pursuant to the terms and conditions contained herein. Parasites and worms are not covered by this agreement. The seller may require a second opinion by a different veterinarian before honoring this guarantee if the seller deems necessary.
The Seller guarantees that if at any time during it's life, the dog is found to have any genetic PRA of the eye, that would cause blindness, Degenerative Myelopathy, or Exercise Induced Collapse, the seller will replace the dog with another dog of equal or lesser value when available. Veterinarian certification is required and the dog must be returned to the seller. The seller may require a second opinion by a different veterinarian before honoring this guarantee if the seller deems necessary.
The Seller guarantees that if the dog is found to have genetic hip or elbow dysplasia within two years of the adoption date contained in this agreement, the Seller will replace the dog with another dog of equal or lesser value when available. The Buyer agrees to furnish x-rays of the dog's hips and/or elbows and a letter from the attending veterinarian verifying that the puppy is dysplastic. The Buyer agrees to return the puppy to the Seller in order for any part of this guarantee to be valid. The Buyer has also been advised that being overweight can cause dysplasia. Therefore, if the affected dog is found to be more than 5 pounds overweight, this guarantee against hip or elbow dysphasia will not be honored by the seller. The seller may require a second opinion by a different veterinarian before honoring this guarantee if the seller deems necessary.
The Seller assumes no responsibility for the dog after leaving the Seller's premises including, but not limited to, medical expenses, temperament, mortality, landlord's approval, allergy to animals, disagreements of family or any other reason. It is further understood and agreed that no warranties or representation of any nature or sort have been made with respect to the sold animal except those contained in this agreement and the accompanying Puppy Return Policy. However, rest assured that we stand behind our puppies. Our reputation is based on your satisfaction and healthy well bred dogs.
The Buyer has been advised that a puppy should not be taken around other animals that have not been protected against the normal diseases until the puppy has competed the third series of puppy vaccinations and been advised by their own veterinarian.
The Buyer has been informed that the Seller is not a licensed veterinarian and that immediate veterinary medical advice should be sought first if critical health issues arise during the time period covered by this agreement. The Buyer should only contact the Seller after the emergency medical situation has been dealt with by a licensed veterinarian. Any failure of the Buyer to seek proper medical care for the dog shall render the contract null and void and the Seller free from replacement and blame.
The seller in no way is responsible for veterinarian expenses or diagnostic testing.
This guarantee in whole is to replace the dog upon the return of the original dog. In some instances, at the Seller's discretion, a full or partial refund may be issued instead of a replacement dog. However, a refund is not guaranteed under this agreement.
Microchip:
The Buyer has been advised that the puppy being purchased has been microchipped by the seller. The Buyer agrees that the primary contact listed in the registration of said microchip shall be the seller for the dog's entire life. The buyer agrees to be listed as the secondary contact on the microchip registration.
